Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Ep. 3 & 4 REVIEW: Strength & Determination

Tanjiro’s character arc continues in these next two installments! And I have to admit, they are some of the most compelling installments yet.

In both episodes 3 and 4, we get a glimpse of what Tanjiro’s determination. Nezuko’s asleep and she won’t wake up, and he’s been training with Urokodaki for over a year, and his final test is to slice a boulder clean in half. And after six months of this, he nearly gives up, but a boy, Sabito, tries to get Tanjiro to beat him, and Tanjiro loses every time. Up until six months later, where Tanjiro finally wins, and slices the boulder in half. In Episode 4, Tanjiro takes part in the Final Selection, and ends up using the skills from his training to defeat a demon, which had killed Urokodaki’s disiples.

What I liked from these episodes, is the fact that is Tanjiro’s story is slowly progressing, growing out of the child he was in episode 1, and progressing into a True-Blue Demon Slayer.

Also, in Episode 3, it seemed that it was their first attempt at comedy. And it’s alright.

Plus, I love, Love, LOVE the effects on Tanjiro’s attacks, with the water looking like a painting, every time, just like in the opening! I love these episodes, and can’t wait for the next one.

  1. I too am loving the sword art. It really brings the action to life. For the second half of episode four, I was grinning from ear to ear. It’s great to see how he’s grown from episode one.
